A family of isolation equipment designed to provide electrical isolation on metallic telecommunications circuits while passing all normal communications signaling. The isolation prevents electrical hazard voltages from damaging the telecommunications network and customers equipment. Hazard voltages includes spikes and surges caused by induction, earth potential rise and lightning.

Suitable for use on

- 2W dialed circuits connected to

phones,
facsimiles,
modems,
computers,
PBX systems,
EFTPOS machines,
Alarm panels.

- Permanently connected circuits used for analogue and data at 300Hz to 100kHz, 128kbit, 2Mbit. 150W and 600W termination.

- Supports smart services. ie number identification etc.

Standard options include

- Single circuit master unit
- 2 circuit master unit. ( Will support 2 slave units)
- Single circuit and 2 circuit slave units. (Powered from a master unit)
- 7 to 12 circuit cabinet suitable for internal and external installations. (Cabinets for external installation will contain a switch board.)
- 13 to 25 circuit cabinets for internal or external installation.

Options and Accessories

- A steel support frame is available for external installations.
- Ring generator for installations with low ringing voltage.
-  Line reversal.
- Power Supply. 15kV isolation. 48 VDC, 1.5A output.

Miscellaneous

The single and 2 circuit isolation units are supplied fully assembled with 2 high voltage plugs for terminating the exchange and customers lines in. The Master unit needs to be positioned within 1m of a 230 volt power socket.

The large cabinets are supplied fully wired but without the isolation installed. The isolation is supplied in 6 unit blocks, ready for bolting into the cabinet and connecting. All bolts and plugs are installed.
Cabinets for internal installation are provided with a 230 volt lead, cabinets for external installation are provided with a main switch board ready for termination of a single phase NS cable.

IMPORTANT

For the equipment to provide the required level of isolation it is important that the installation is carefully designed with a full understanding of earth systems and transferred earth potential rise.

KAYROD Services can provide installation specifications and full design consultancy for any installation.
